IMO Type Approved Class-A AIS for SOLAS Vessels
SOLAS carriage requirements mandate Class-A Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) to be fitted aboard all ships, on international voyages, 300 GT and upwards; all cargo ships, both international or domestic, 500 GT and upwards; and all passenger ships, international or domestic, regardless of size.
